Child wounded by gunshot in Jewett City

JEWETT CITY, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut state police say a young child has been wounded after a gun accidentally went off in a home in Jewett City. The child has been taken to Backus Hospital in Norwich. State police say they have secured the scene and are trying to determine what happened. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press.
