THE LAWLESS ROADS is the true and untold story of the ambush and capture of the only American Prisoner of War still held in captivity - Staff Sergeant Matt Maupin. A platoon of reservists get caught up in the worst ambush in the history of the war. The Shiite Insurgents (The Mahdi Army) set up a five mile kill zone. Of the 43 men that went out that day 17 came back killed or wounded. Two men were captured and six died. Of the two that were captured Thomas Hamill the truck driver escaped. Matt Maupin is still in captivity.
